A Runner with Purpose
I’m Adam Ramsden. Over the past 25 years, I’ve run 14 full marathons, raising money for causes that see important to me along the way.
What started as a “one-time thing” with the London Marathon back in 2000 turned into an annual event after 2010 when I returned to my local marathon to raise money for Kidney Research – and since then, running and fundraising have become part of my life.

The Six Star Journey
I never set out to run all six of the world’s major marathons. But by 2014, I had completed three of them – London, Berlin, and New York – and the seed was planted.
In 2023, I ran the Chicago Marathon as part of the Abbott Age Group World Championships and decided to finish what I’d unintentionally started. In 2024, I ran Boston last year, and now Tokyo in March 2026 will complete the journey.
That makes Tokyo my fifteenth and likely final marathon – and I will be running with a friend who is raising money for the same cause.
Why I Run
I run because I love it – but also every race is an opportunity to raise funds for brilliant charities doing vital work. This time, I’m fundraising for:
- Macmillan Cancer Support, doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer.
- Ronald McDonald House Charities, helping families of children receiving medical care.
These charities do great work, and I’m going all-out to make this my biggest fundraising total yet.

Donate Today
I know many of you have supported me before…
I am going to be a bit shameless here and, as I dig deep into my resources for this, try to silence my numerous injuries, wince through the pain, and train through the bitter cold of the English winter (did I overdo this 😊)…
I would love it if you could support me one more (final?) time for these GREAT charities.
